Conglanging
One of my favorite pastimes is constructing languages (more colloquially, conglanging, "constructed-language-making"). I build these languages based on a fictional world I created. I have begun thinking up the content of several fictional worlds since elementary school. The main universe, still having its name originating from elementary, is called 'Power Swords,' or 'Yudurap' in my constructed language Dilpfai (Sendan).
Sendan (Dilpfai)
Dilpfai is the most developed language I have constructed, and it continues to evolve to this day. Dilpfai has its own writing system, but I have romanized (written with the Latin writing system) it here. Its alternate name, Sendan, comes from the name of a planet within my universe called Senda.
The name Dilpfai comes from a fictional legend of the planet Senda. Senda was a split world with many factions (kind of like the different countries of Earth). However, conflict rose up between the Sendanite species/civilization and another civilization from another planet. Legend says that a leader called Isikan Dilstrairasht (modern spelling is now Isfisfriyr Dilpfairaf) united Senda and brought it to victory during an interplanetary battle. Thus, the planet and language Isikan Dilstrairasht spoke was named after a part of their name, 'Dilstrai.' Over time, the pronunciation/spelling evolved to 'Dilpfai.'
As Dilpfai has developed throughout middle school and high school, I have written countless notes, stories, proverbs, and translations in Dilpfai. I have a twitter page (@dilpfaip) where I record some of the evolution of the language in romanized Dilpfai, with some media containing its native writing system as well as writing systems from my other constructed languages.
Sometimes, I like to translate real-life language works into Dilpfai for fun. Below is a translation of a song from one of my favorite music artists, AURORA, called "I Went Too Far."
